Technical Projects Engineer

We are the leading provider of sustainable and energy efficient solutions to decarbonise heat for industrial and commercial clients. Working with the Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for engineering design, costing, and development of technical proposal documentation, to support our Commercial team proposals for AZ EscoPod projects ranging from Feasibility Studies through to complete Installation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, cost and propose thermal systems using AZ EscoPod technology to replace existing boiler systems, in industrial and commercial facilities
  • Assess and understand high level operation of existing site heating and refrigeration (thermal) systems.
  • Organise metering and data collection to assist with analysis of systems
  • Analyse metered data (water flow; temperatures; fuel flow; power consumption) to derive heat loads, system efficiencies etc.
  • Develop opportunities to deploy AZ solutions, integrating with existing site systems
  • Design, select and cost components and systems for heat recovery, heat generation, pumping systems, thermal storage
  • Develop project cost estimates; Technical Specifications; and Scope of Works for proposal documents
  • On certain projects you may be required to:

  • Design, select and cost components and systems for procurement
  • Draft technical specification documents for mech/elec/automation sub-contracts
  • Provide technical and management support to the Projects Manager
  • Assist with IQ/OQ and PQ activities
  • Requirements:

  • Qualifications and experience in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Process, or Facilities Engineering will be valuable
  • You must have a positive and constructive approach to working with teams and be committed to generating value.
  • Design level knowledge and experience in some of, or all, the following areas will be required:

  • Refrigeration and heat pump systems
  • CHP / micro-gas turbines
  • Hot water and steam boilers
  • Heating circuits
  • Hydraulic pump systems
  • Process Automation systems
  • The person:

    In addition to the points listed above, our ideal candidate will:

  • Be prepared to travel to sites in Ireland, UK, Europe
  • Work with various utility systems: water, steam, gas, and refrigeration
  • Possess good drawing capability in 2D and/or 3D
  • Possess excellent MS Office skills
  • Be a good communicator
  • Be positive, honest, and constructive in dealings with the team, clients, and suppliers
