The EscoPod

An ultra-efficient, high temperature (up to 100°C), multi-function heat pump system tailored to specific applications. Leveraging over 30 years of industry experience, ActionZero engineers and scientists designed and developed this turnkey patented thermal system to deliver variable temperature heat in high volume applications. The EscoPod is a multi-function thermal heating solution explicitly configured to deliver breakthrough COP efficiencies for your production process.

Its modular build ensures flexibility including: heat recovery module; hot water module; space heating module; and chilling module. ActionZero delivers the EscoPod unit to site ready to install and commission without interruption to production or distribution processes.

How it works

The EscoPod
All-Electric Model

  • The All-Electric model is designed utilising in-house heat pump design expertise, that employs optimisation of certain characteristics of the thermodynamic cycle, to achieve higher efficiencies for specific applications.
  • Source heat is extracted from either ambient air and/or waste water heat sources and processed through the a first stage heat pump producing low to medium temperature HW.
  • In a single-stage heat pump the work of compression takes place over one step. For higher temperature outputs, a two-stage system may be required to optimise efficiency.
  • Different interstage systems, e.g., cascade, open flash, are employed to further enhance heat generation efficiency, depending on the application.

The EscoPod
Hybrid Model

AIR & WATER SOURCE HEAT PUMP SYSTEM:

  • Heats water from 10 to 60°C
  • Delivers variable output temperatures
  • Runs on electricity – no fossil fuels

 

CAPSTONE MICRO-TURBINE SYSTEM:

  • Consumes Nat. Gas, LPG, Biogas, Liquid Fuel incl. H₂
  • Heats water from 60 to 95°C
  • Generates electricity for heat pump with surplus to plant.
  • Waste heat from turbine used to increase efficiency of heat pump.
  • Prototype in development with sister company EI-H₂ to replace hydrocarbon fuel with green H₂.
  • Single stage heat pump delivers pre-heating function, powered by electricity produced by an on-board micro-gas turbine.
  • High temperature heating function delivered through heat recovery from turbine exhaust.
